Good and Bad

Well this month has been the saddest time of my life with the passing away of my best friend ever - my mother. She was the best influence in my life and had a heart of gold with never a cross word spoken, I will really miss her.

On the poker front I havent had the time to play online but have played a few times at the new club and done pretty well.

Well we have now been open just 7 weeks and things are getting better and better here at Duffs. We now have over 850 members and rapidly approaching the 1000 mark so this means that we are getting busier at our tables and at the club in general which in turn means a more livelier club for all of our members.

If you haven’t looked at the website lately we have been working hard to meet all of our member’s demands and have launched a number of promotions to keep everyone happy. With this in mind we have now decided to launch a new league and guarantee a sum of £5,000 for this league. The details of this will be at the foot of this letter and on our website.

We have also decided to have a Grand weekend madness promotion where we will guarantee £1,000 for this coming Friday, Saturday and Sundays events. Whilst in the guaranteed mood our next £100 Freezeout event on Saturday 29th August will now also be a £5,000 guaranteed event. Please book your seats for these events to help us cater to your every need.

We will shortly be announcing details (within the next 2 days) of a series of freerolls for our members and will be putting up £2,500 for these games so keep looking in for all details.

We are striving to make this club the absolute best and are always open to suggestions, at the end of the day it is your club and we want to make it work for you.

Plus we have free poker with The Live Pub Poker League here on a Saturday afternoon at 2 o clock and all are welcome for that.

Our cash tables are now open at 6 0 Clock every day so a nice little warm up for the main events.

NEW LEAGUE

The 5k League

Appropriately called as we are going to guarantee £5,000 and this is how it is going to work. It will be totally separate to our Summer League which ends in 3 weeks time and when the Summer League ends this will be replaced with a new one separate to the 5K league.

On a Friday night we have a £50 Freezeout and on a Saturday night we have a £25 double chance tournament and the league will apply to these 2 games.

Players will receive 1 point for every time they turn up for a game and the following points will be applied depending on where they finish

There will also be a randomly drawn bounty player every night where if you knock this player out you will receive 2 points.

The league will run from Friday 14th August and finish on the 29th November. At this stage the player who tops the league will receive £400, £300 for second, £150 for 3rd, £100 for 4th and £50 for 5th. The top 75 (including the top5) will then have all their points multiplied by 100 and then converted to chips for the final freeroll game. This will be on Saturday 5th December. At this game we will guarantee an amount of £4,000 to be paid as per usual tournament structures. If anyone cannot make the 5th December we will put an appropriate additional amount into an online freeroll. There will be a small charge of 10% from each weeks prize fund which will go to this fund.

JACKPOTS

Our Royal Flush Jackpot currently stands at £409 and the bad beat Jackpot is at £387 so every night has plenty of potential to take away one of these jackpots for a £1 entry fee. Commiserations to one of our players last Friday who hit the Royal Flush but missed out on the jackpot as he had omitted to pay his pound.
