Things are really getting busy here now at Duffs and we have just launched another game for your diary following on from the feedback we got from our last Bounty Hunter game.

The new game for your diary is on Saturday 12th December at 2 0 Clock and is a £75 + £25 Bounty Hunter and is a 12,000 chip start with 30 minute blinds Freezeout. All details are now on the website and we will be running one satellite for it where you can qualify cheaply. On Sunday 6th December our £10 rebuy game at 6 0 Clock will be a satellite into the Bounty Hunter. Every £100 collected will get a seat into the main event.

This Sunday at 2 O Clock we have our last Christmas Cracker Freeroll where you have a chance to win £3,000 for nothing. This is your absolute last chance so would suggest that if you want a nice little Xmas Bonus you turn up for this last chance to make the final 20.

This Saturday sees the final of our £5K league which we ran and the top 75 will come back and play in the £2,500 final free game. If you were in the top 75 you should have been contacted by now so we should see you on Saturday. This saturday Bounty Hunter - Dont Miss it

Hi all

This Saturday at Duffs Full House, as well as all our draught beer being just £2 per pint and all the main footie games being available to watch on our many flat screen TVs, we also have our monthly main Poker event. It is a £100 plus £25 bounty hunter tournament and this means that every player you knock out you will get £25. It is a 12,000 chip start and a 30 minute clock so will make for a great game of Poker. As well as this game we will have all of our normal schedule running and cash tables open all day and night so should be a great day for all. The game kicks off at 1 O Clock so please arrive at 12.30 for registration.

We are pleased to say that things are getting busier at the club all the time now and hence the prizepools are getting bigger so much more worth the while popping down for a visit. New League and New Schedule at Duffs Full House

After listening to all of our members we are now making one last change to our schedule and this will remain the same now for the foreseeable future. As from Monday we will be launching a brand new league which will be fair and simple right across the board and will give some of our members that extra bit of Xmas spending money. NEW CHRISTMAS LEAGUE



Welcome to our new Duffs Christmas League, The league will run from Monday 26th October and finish on Saturday 19th December with the grand final free roll to be held on Sunday 20th December @ 7.30 pm.



Points for this league are available from every tournament played Monday to Sunday each week excluding our Sunday live satellite night tournament, freerolls and main events.



Players will receive 1 point for every time they turn up for a game and the following points will be applied depending on where they finish.



1st - 9 Points

2nd - 8 Points

3rd - 7 Points

4th - 6 Points

5th - 5 Points

6th - 4 Points

7th - 3 Points

8th - 2 Points

9th - 1 Point



There will also be a randomly drawn bounty player every night where if you knock this player out you will receive 2 points, if you are the bounty and win then you keep the points for yourself. If you make 3 top 5 finishes in a week you will also get a bonus of 3 points. These points will then be converted into chips where the top 50 will be invited back to play in a free game where there will be a guaranteed prize pool of £2,000.



There will be a small charge of 5% from each tournaments prize pool and this will be played for at our grand final free roll. Every penny of this 5% will go into the final freeroll where the top 9 will be paid out as per our usual payout schedule. If for some reason the sum collected was less than £2,000 Duffs Full House will make up the difference.



This will mean that the winner of the final free game will get at least £700 for his or hers efforts so a nice little Xmas Bonus.

If you hadn’t noticed we have now launched our own forum and will soon be posting lots of useful information for you to help your game. In the meantime please feel free to log in and have a look around and start posting.

The main items we have going on this week are the launch of our online satellites with our online partner Sunpoker. The games are £10 rebuys and run every Monday and Thursday night at 8 O Clock and can be found in the scheduled tournaments in the Sunpoker lobby. The satelittes are into our main event on Halloween where we are guaranteeing a prize pool of £10,000. This will be our biggest game yet and are expecting a good turn out.

This week sees the end of our Dublin league so make sure you venture down tonight and Thursday and get those last points you will need in the finals. The Dublin event looks great so would recommend that you venture down for this one.

On Wednesday we have our £5 rebuy madness where we are guaranteeing a prizepool of £900 and this is proving very popular.

Continuing our theme of rebuy madness we have our usual Friday night rebuy madness game that starts at 7 and on Saturday one that starts at 6, these are in addition to our 2 usual freezeouts on Friday and Saturday night.

Halloween Special

On the 31st October we will be hosting our biggest tournament yet with a £10,000 guarantee. We will be decorating the bar area and getting into the spirit of things so to speak and all alcoholic drinks will be just £2 before 10pm.

We expect a full house on this one so even if you don’t fancy the poker then feel free to pop down for a drink and bring along your partners and friends. The main game itself is a £250 buy in and we will be running £10 rebuy satellites into this event every Sunday Evening at 7pm with late registrations available for the first 80 mins.

You will get 15,000 chips to battle it out in the main event and early interest suggests that the prizepool will be more than £20,000. We will also be running an online satellite with Sunpoker to this and these dates are Monday 12th, Thursday 15th, Monday 19th, Thursday 22nd Monday 26th and Monday 29th October. All games are $10 rebuys and as a special one off every player who accumulates 7,500 Sunpoker points from now will be entered into a freeroll online where the winner will get a seat into the main event. We have had so much going on here recently and after having sent out a customer survey have listened to your comments and have addressed a lot of the issues. Most of the feedback has been very good so it is pleasing to know that we have got most of it right. We have made a lot of changes with regards to our website and schedules and have many big events coming up. I apologise now for the length of this mail but there is a lot of information that will be useful to you.

On a personal basis I want everyone to enjoy the club and give everyone what they would want the club to provide and we will continue to make changes as per our members needs and that is of course you.

Summer Super League

The last 2 events for this are this Tuesday and Thursday and then the finals are on Sunday at 2PM where everyone who has taken part in the league even if it was just one day is invited back to play for a seat at the WSOPE. Even if you just have 500 chips then you have a chance of taking it down. The last day being a free one surely must attract most of the members who have chips to play with so will be a great day especially when there are 90 people who have taken part. Don’t forget if you come along this Tuesday and Thursday winning one of the nights will get you an extra 8500 chips to play with. All the details of this can be found here:

On Saturday 12th September we will be holding a live free game for everyone to enter with the only cost being £3 for our dealer costs. Well this month has been the saddest time of my life with the passing away of my best friend ever - my mother. She was the best influence in my life and had a heart of gold with never a cross word spoken, I will really miss her.

On the poker front I havent had the time to play online but have played a few times at the new club and done pretty well.

We now have over 850 members and rapidly approaching the 1000 mark so this means that we are getting busier at our tables and at the club in general which in turn means a more livelier club for all of our members.

If you haven’t looked at the website lately we have been working hard to meet all of our member’s demands and have launched a number of promotions to keep everyone happy. With this in mind we have now decided to launch a new league and guarantee a sum of £5,000 for this league. The details of this will be at the foot of this letter and on our website.

We have also decided to have a Grand weekend madness promotion where we will guarantee £1,000 for this coming Friday, Saturday and Sundays events. Whilst in the guaranteed mood our next £100 Freezeout event on Saturday 29th August will now also be a £5,000 guaranteed event. Please book your seats for these events to help us cater to your every need.

We will shortly be announcing details (within the next 2 days) of a series of freerolls for our members and will be putting up £2,500 for these games so keep looking in for all details.

NEW LEAGUE

The 5k League

Appropriately called as we are going to guarantee £5,000 and this is how it is going to work. It will be totally separate to our Summer League which ends in 3 weeks time and when the Summer League ends this will be replaced with a new one separate to the 5K league.

On a Friday night we have a £50 Freezeout and on a Saturday night we have a £25 double chance tournament and the league will apply to these 2 games.

Players will receive 1 point for every time they turn up for a game and the following points will be applied depending on where they finish

There will also be a randomly drawn bounty player every night where if you knock this player out you will receive 2 points.

The league will run from Friday 14th August and finish on the 29th November. At this stage the player who tops the league will receive £400, £300 for second, £150 for 3rd, £100 for 4th and £50 for 5th. The top 75 (including the top5) will then have all their points multiplied by 100 and then converted to chips for the final freeroll game. This will be on Saturday 5th December. At this game we will guarantee an amount of £4,000 to be paid as per usual tournament structures. If anyone cannot make the 5th December we will put an appropriate additional amount into an online freeroll. There will be a small charge of 10% from each weeks prize fund which will go to this fund.

JACKPOTS

Our Royal Flush Jackpot currently stands at £409 and the bad beat Jackpot is at £387 so every night has plenty of potential to take away one of these jackpots for a £1 entry fee. Commiserations to one of our players last Friday who hit the Royal Flush but missed out on the jackpot as he had omitted to pay his pound.

Just to let you know the latest at Duffs Full House we have launched a number of things and the details are below. On a personal front I have been so busy I havent had a chance to play myself much online but will be back at the tables now so the easy money for you all is back.

Summer Bonanza



Well here at Duffs we have been very busy and have lots going on. The main events are on our website and don’t forget its always being updated so please keep looking in. On a positive note we now have well over 600 members and continue to grow daily so will be soon offering lots more for our members to enjoy. The main events we have on apart from our weekly schedule are:

Saturday 1st August


Starting at 4 PM we have a £100 freezeout and have 45 players registered so far. This is a deepstack tournament so lots of poker play for you. Should you bust out early then our usual £25 double chance will start at 8 PM.


Sunday 2nd August


Starting at 2PM we have a £200 freezeout which again is a deepstack tournament. This game has a £5,000 guarantee so well worth stopping over from Saturdays play. Our usual tournament schedule will apply on Sunday evening should you bust out.


Cash tables will be available as always throughout both days.


Friday 31st July


Its Glorious Goodwood week and we will be arranging for a coach to ferry our members to the races. Please book early for this so we can arrange the numbers.


Summer League


The league is hotting up now and there are still loads of points up for grabs to play for a seat to the WSOPE in September. The league runs on a Tuesday and a Thursday and don’t worry if you have missed a few weeks as it is structured so everyone has a chance of the package.


Jackpots!!


We have just launched our jackpots and this is open to everyone and applies to all of our scheduled tournaments.


Royal Flush jackpot


This total stands at £266 and to qualify you must have a Royal Flush with 2 of the qualifying cards in your hand and the hand must see a river card dealt. All players are offered to take part in this Jackpot and will pay a £1 fee. If no-one wins it this £1 will be added to the bonus amount and hence it will grow quite quickly.


Bad Beat jackpot


As with the Royal flush Jackpot players will be invited to pay £1 to take part and this will be added each week to the Jackpot pool until it is won. The jackpot currently stands at £265 and to qualify a player must suffer a bad beat. A bad beat is being beaten holding quads or better. Both hands in the bad beat must hold 2 of the qualifying cards in their hand. The player who suffers the beat will then receive 70% of the prize pool with the remaining 30% shared with the rest of the table who had paid their £1 entry fee.

Please note that we have changed our Wednesday tournament. Instead of a £5 rebuy it is now a £30 freezeout.

Poker for Fun


Here at Duffs we have a passion for poker and invite our members to learn to play. It is a great social game and a great way of meeting people. We can offer lessons in the art of the game and have teamed up with both The Live Pub Poker league and The Apple Poker League where you can play for points and use all of our facilities. The Apple Poker league have started using our club on a Wednesday Evening and you can see all of the details of Apple on their website and likewise the Live Pub Poker League use our venue on a Saturday afternoon. Both Leagues are a great way to learn the game and have a nice social time so please look up their websites for further information.

New Poker Club

Sorry I havent posted for a while now but I have been so busy opening a new poker club. I have a passion for poker and really do think its a great way of socialising. With this in mind I decided to open a poker club which is based in the heart of Waterlooville Hampshire.

Apologies for no updates for a while - beleive you me I have a lot to report on with some superb news but have been waiting for confirmation so hopefully I will be able to do so soon. In the meantime I have heard from IPOKER about a rake race which takes place in February and a 2.5 million guaranteed tournament that takes place in March - below are all the details - please let me know if you need an account set up or any further details - I promise Ill update you on my last weeks play in the next day or two.


Febonanza Promotion

I. Cash tables race

♠ Starting February 1st, iPoker will give out a total of $400,000 to our cash table players.

♠ Players will be ranked in leader boards, by points derived from the gross revenue each player generated in cash tables during the leaderboard period.

♠ There will be one counting period of 28 full days, starting February 1st 2009 at 00:00, ending February 28th 2009, at 23:59:59.

♠ A sum of $400,000 will be divided between the 300 players with highest rank at the end of that period.

♠ The leaderboard is per the above period, spanning all stake levels, game and bet types, as detailed below.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Leaderboard Points are counted for each player who was dealt cards in a hand, and in which rake was taken from that hand. Players who were seated out of a raked hand will not have that hand counted towards this promotion’s leaderboard points.

2. In case there is a tie between players’ leaderboard points in paid places, all players with that number of points will be issued an average amount of their prize (as per their positions).

3. iPoker reserves the right to refuse payment to any player which is found colluding or slow playing.

4. Players will be paid for reaching the money on an ongoing 28 full day’s leaderboard, within seven working days of that leaderboard end time. (End time is February 28th, 2009 at 00:00).

5. All raked hands will be counted, regardless of stake levels, game type or bet type.

6. Accounts cannot be utilized from more than 2 different serial numbers (“machine ID”).

7. All decisions as made by iPoker are final.

2. The first “Golden Hand” will be the first hand with a round million hand ID number. For example: if the first hand ID of the promotion was 1,364,900,000 the first “Golden Hand” will be 1,365,000,000, and so on.

3. Winner of “Golden Hands” will take a sum of money as per the above table.

4. All participants of “Golden Hands” will split an amount as per the above table. The winner will also split this amount.

5. Players must be dealt cards on the hand in order to be eligible for the bonus.

Players sitting out will not be eligible. Players passing on blinds will not be eligible as well.

6. The hand ID’s are determined by the number assigned to them by our system, as they appear on the table (on the top‐left corner).

7. Tournament hands do not participate in this promotion (they are assigned different hand ID’s).

8. Winning hands will be published by our cardrooms and their affiliates. Players who do not agree to this will not be entitled to the prizes.

9. If a winning hand has two winners or more, they will divide the sum of the winner bonus and the participating players’ bonus. For example: 5 players in micro table, winner takes $65.

Participating players split $65 ($13 each). Two winners will take $45.5 each ‐ ($65+$13+$13)/2.

10. Winners of the “Platinum” and “Black” Hands will receive a bonus as detailed above, in addition to the Golden Hand bonus.

11. Only golden hands that reached the “showdown” will be eligible to win the “Platinum” and “Black” hands prizes.

12. A “Golden Hand” is eligible for the “Platinum Hand” prize, only if both hole cards were used at showdown. Platinum Hand” and “Black Hand” will consist of 2 hole cards and 3 community cards.

13. The “Black Hand” will be the weakest hand to win a “Golden Hand” at showdown.

14. All decisions as made by iPoker are final.

15. In case there is a tie between players with the same hand rank (both for “Black Hand” and “Platinum Hand”), all players with that hand rank will split the prize.

III. $2,500,000 Guaranteed tokens

♠ iPoker will give away tokens to the participant players of the Sunday $250,000 Guaranteed events during February.

♠ Tokens will be won by participating players according to the following two options:
• Players who will play and finish among the top 100 players (including) of at least two Sunday $250,000 Guaranteed events during February, will win a token to the $2,500,000 Guaranteed event, which will take place on March 8th, 2009.

• Players who will play the whole four $250,000 Guaranteed events during February, will be eligible to participate in a $2,500,000 guaranteed freeroll, regardless of their finishing position. The freeroll will give away 10 seats to the $2,500,000 Guaranteed event.

Terms & Conditions:

1. The four $250,000 events to be counted in this promotion are: Feb 1st, Feb 8th, Feb 15th, and Feb 22nd.

2. Tokens are non‐refundable, non transferable, and cannot be converted to cash.

3. Players who will win a token to the $2,500,000 Guaranteed will be automatically registered by iPoker into the $2,500,000 Guaranteed event, which will be held on March 8th, 2009.
4. Players who will win a token to the $2,500,000 Guaranteed freeroll, will be automatically registered by iPoker into the $2,500,000 Guaranteed Freeroll. The exact date and time of the freeroll will be determined and communicated by the end of February 2009.

Quick Update

Morning all

Well I played a reasonable bit yesterday and after being up and down like a yoyo made a huge profit of £20 – better than losing and my winning days continue. I paid $489 in tournament fees – just over £300, though so taking that into account the profit was better than it suggests.

What to do now though – I have won 3 Fort Knox sit and gos in a row and the jackpot stands at $120k so need another 3. I think I will play a few normal games first and see how my luck is running to gauge when to sit down for the 4th game. It would be nice to get the 6 in a row for the jackpot but think my hands would be shaking too much to play the 6th if I got to 5 but we will wait and see if that happens.

Grinding

Morning all

Yesterday was an interesting day and quite a busy one. I have been playing catch up at work after the 2 week Christmas break and that has been very hectic. I saw a few of my clients which went well and will earn me about 5k so a good start to the New Year business wise although today I have to do a few exams – taking exams at my age is a pain in the butt but has to be done I guess.

I had a half hour to kill before I went to see my clients so not enough time for a game of poker so I played a few hands of Blackjack with the £500 I still had in my Betfair account and managed to spin it up to £800 so happy with that. I am looking out now for a suitable use for this £800 i.e. what to bet it on. Perhaps I should play one game of HU on Betfair for a double or nothing spin up – who knows I may well do that.

I played quite a few STTs in the evening and ended up with £300 profit so that takes this year to £2000 profit and still yet to have a losing day – maybe just maybe this will be my year. What is interesting though is that when I looked this morning I had paid $435 (£270) in rake. I am usually a little blasé about this aspect of poker and just look at what’s in my account to gauge my profit. It makes you realise just how much sites can make from the likes of us for effectively running a piece of software. My profit without the rake would have been £570 so quite a difference. This just backs up the importance of making sure you are on some sort of a deal to get some of this back. I see it now as a way of saving and its always nice to get a lump sum back at the end of the month.

When you look back to when you started playing poker its amazing what you learn as you go along not just some of the skills that you pick up but also some of the tools that you can benefit from. I started playing online with Littlewoods and had no idea I was playing against players from Hills and Betfair etc and it was about 2 years before I stumbled across rakeback with Betfair.I reckon this cost me about £20,000 in lost money which had I known I would have got back. Since then I have found out about the likes of Sharkscope, poker tracker, poker bots etc and realise the importance of having a slight edge against your opponent and just how much some use these tools. Maybe rather stupidly I don’t use any of them – too lazy I think to really research them and understand them but I know for some they are very useful, I hardly play any cash but if I did undoubtedly they are an essential item. There are some good forums around where if you ask the questions people will give you the answers and so for any aspiring players out there I would really advise that you do your research first and plague the forums with your questions

The one item I do use is the common sense approach of making sure I get some of my poker fees returned to me and making sure that I play on a site that offers me the right software. Here we go again another plug for The Big Slick I hear you say but why not? It has never collapsed on me and offers me all the games that I want to play with near on 30000 players online at peak times. I also get a very good loyalty deal and have the chance to play a greater number of players and there is no waiting for a game to start. You will also recall that I won a multi just before Chrimbo where my $30 entry got me $7,350 – no way could I have done that on my previous site. So sorry for harping on but I really can’t understand why anyone would not want to play there and if you did then why not take advantage of the loyalty scheme we have running.

Christmas was so hectic and seeing the joy on my 2 little boy’s faces was well worth the effort and stress of the festive period. Every day was busy over the period and hence didn’t get to play too much poker but ended up winning about £1500 in the last week of the year so happy with that.

So here we are with another New Year and no doubt there are loads of resolutions being made and broken. I haven’t made any resolutions but have a few aims and goals which I will share with you here and keep you updated.

In terms of work my industry is going through a very turbulent time and the goal here is to look after my existing clients and to survive the year as it is getting very tough out there.

My main hobby is Golf and my main goal here is to be around about a 12 handicapper by the end of the year – been hitting under 90 most rounds now so should be achievable.

Now for my Poker aims which should be the most lucrative. I have many plans for Poker which I keep hinting at and will know at the weekend how it is going to pan out but I have some exciting prospects looming ahead. In terms of my own play I aim to win £40,000 from poker and receive about £30,000 from loyalty bonuses etc from my volume of play. I would also expect to make a little more from other Poker related issues. I also aim to make a Final Table in at least one decent event. I will keep this blog updated with my progress.

As you know I am now heavily endorsing The Big Slick which is on the I Poker network. I really do like the site and the choice of games and traffic which is on there. I have had a bit of a roller coaster ride with the double up games as there are so many idiots on there who seem to hit a lot of the time. However at the end of the day it is a numbers game and I now seem to be running well again so hopefully this will reap the rewards. I have played a few bigger stakes sit and gos lately and have fared well in those so perhaps that’s where I will focus some of my attention in the future.

So my target is to make £40k this year from poker which equates to £770 per week so should be reachable. So far this year I haven’t had a losing day and have paid about $1200 in poker fees so have played a reasonable bit. I am up £1,700 so far this year so well ahead of target and looking good for the year ahead. Have had a few losing runs where I have managed to salvage the session with a larger stt win such as last night where I won the last game that I played which was a $500 6 seater which meant my days without a loss run continued. Wouldn’t it be good if you could go a whole year without a losing day – would think that was impossible to do but Ill see how long I can last anyway.

I am really looking forward to this year and will definitely have some big news for you at the weekend and still plan to have another home game some time soon where you will all be invited. I still read the forum on Betfair so am keeping up with things and sometimes miss being able to post but really do wish you all the best for the year ahead even the ones I have had spats with. It is going to be a tough year for many with the current climate and I hope we all get through it.
