Xmas Bonus

Morning Chappies and Lassies,

Haven’t posted much later as to be honest there hasn’t been a lot to report on. Its been very bust the last few days work wise and am trying to get everything done so I can have some sort of break. We’ve had our office party now which was quite a laugh and I am pretty sure that the photos aren’t too embarrassing but everyone had a good time – right enough of the waffle and on to the poker.

The last few days I haven’t played huge amounts as there has been a load to do and last night I got in from work at about 8.20 and fired up The BigSlick (great site). I decided to enter the $10 rebuy which has a guarantee of $35k. I bought the extra 1500 chips at the start and then did the add on so laid out a total of $30 – about £21. There was 1109 runners altogether as obviously it was a low buy in and had a good guarantee.

I started off well and then got up to about 32k and was donked when my AK lost to A9 and then QQ to 10 10. This sent me down to 4k and wasn’t looking to good. I then ran good for the next 20 mins and got up to the dizzy heights of 78k and into the top 10. It was at this point that my dear beloved wife (I hope she doesn’t read this by the way) was asking how long I would be as she wanted to go to bed. I told her that I felt that I was going to win tonight after having recovered like I did and she said well you always say that. It was at this point that I had a bit of a dilemma – she had had an Ann Summers Party the other night and wanted to play so do I turn down a very tempting offer or stop playing hmmmm. Well not being the one to turn down a good offer I sat out and returned later to carry on so managed to have a good old session amidst the game – loverly.

I was still in a good position when I got back and think I played pretty well to go on to take the $7,350 first prize which is about £5,000 sterling so nice Xmas bonus and I think Ill treat the missus to something special.

So for just a 20 quid layout I won £5,000 – I couldn’t have dreamt of doing that on Betfair so it just goes to show that there is loads of potential for the small players to make lots of money so would really suggest that if you haven’t tried it yet that you do so. Please E Mail me and I will show you how you can open an account and enjoy all the benefits as well as being part of out VIP rewards scheme where you get a % of your tournament and poker fees back.

It is always nice to win a tournament so to win this one was a little special to me as I have final tabled on the new site a number of times but this was my biggest one to date on IPOKer and a nice little bonus for Xmas. First time I’ve had over 4 million chips as well.

Well I have to nip off now and take my 2 boys Xmas shopping so that they can treat their mum and Ill do the same. Looking forward to it like a hole in the head as I detest shopping and the only time I go is this once a year Xmas thing.

Be lucky at the tables and all the best – catch u later

Thieving Gits

Afternoon all,

Back from Centerparcs now and the kids had a great time. I would recommend it to anyone with a young family who wants to get away for a few days. The swimming pool was great and the outside rapids kept the kids and I amused for hours.

You might recall we go a bit overboard on our Xmas lights and this year we decided to do a charity collection. We got a sealed bucket from the organisation and then put it on one of our heavy garden chairs and attached it to it with 2 heavy duty locks. Some thieving low life scumbag then decided to steal it and took the chair, buckets, locks the lot. I am so pissed off with this – you try and do some good and then this lowlife decides to nick it. I obviously have no idea how much was in the bucket but it breaks my heart that at this time of year people can stoop that low.

Yesterday I went to Celtic Manor for The Ryder Cup experience and apart from playing like a complete dork thoroughly enjoyed it. If you play Golf and fancy something special I would recommend it. The day is all about pampering you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. As would be expected with the next Ryder Cup course there is a lot of water and bunkers and some interesting greens. It was money well spent and they do give you free freebies with your package and look after you very well. Look it up if you fancy it there are some good deals at the moment.

On the Poker front I haven’t managed to play an awful lot due to being away but in the games that I have managed to achieve a huge whopping £50 profit. Better than losing I guess.

Will hit the tables later so hopefully will post up some good results tomorrow.

See ya laters

Oops

Yesterday was probably the worst day I have ever had playing poker, all the donks were out in force and it must have been national river the duffs day. I couldnt do a thing right and lost game after game. I dont beleive I tilt or play any differently when on a losing streak but when it starts going wrong in hindsight I should just log out and wait for another day. Instead I just carry on - pretty stupid really still we live and learn. On a plus side at least I will get some of the tournament fees back.

I am going away now for a long weekend - taking the family to centerparcs at Longleat which I am sure they will enjoy. They have a bit of a Xmas theme there so that will get them warmed up for the big day. It will do me good to have a break after a horrific losing streak as well so wont be posting on here until next tuesday. As you have probably guessed I love Xmas and spending time with the family and its great that the kids still beleive although I suspect this will be the last year so am going to make the most of it.

Take care one and all and I hope your luck is better than mine at the tables and dont forget the £50 refer a friend scheme. I will still try and access the net whilst I am away so if you have any queries then please mail me.

See you Tuesday

Moving on

Still running bad - I started taking notes of what hands I was losing on but was only getting depressed so stopped doing that. Ended up the day £400 down, could have been worse I guess but I know it will only get better.

My back is feeling a lot better now so at least I am more mobile.

I am still loving the Ipoker site though and am enjoying the benefits of The Big Slick and I guess when you analyse it the site has everything that a poker player needs : Traffic, choice of games, big value multis etc so I am continuing to endorse it. With the site it is a case of trying it out and then asking the appropriate questions - I am going to compile a list of dos and donts which I have come across since playing the site and hopefully this will help a few of you. I think by now you have realised that I can get you a good deal on the site and if you need to contact me you can do so at duffs16@hotmail.co.uk . As I am trying to build up our base of affiliated players so we can start running some good promotions we have decided to introduce a refer a friend scheme. The details are as follows:

. If you introduce someone to us then we will pay you £50 once they have paid a total of $500 in poker fees and tournament fees. So if you could introduce 4 players that’s £200 in your pocket – better than a kick up the bum.

You would of course be doing them a favour as they would be playing on the biggest and best (in my opinion) site in Europe and they would also benefit from a rebate in their tournament and poker fees.

We had to put the $500 clause in otherwise we would get all your grannys and mums signing up to get the £50s. But in all seriousness it is free money for you and a good site to play on - dont forget Hills and Sun Poker are soon to come over as well.

In the meantime I have posted below some pics of my last home game that some of you might be interested in - soon to be released as well is the funniest exit of a tournament I have ever seen (Shaa in Singapore) so keep tuning in.

Have fun at the tables and may today be a good one - especially for me!!!

Four well known forumites have also been spotted meeting up - see here

Not running so good

Morning all,

Please accept my apologies for the lack of posts in the last few days but I have been feeling really crap and sorry for myself. My back has been pretty bad and I’m not too sure that all of the medication agrees with me as I have just felt so lethargic and lazy the last few days. I’ve pretty much felt like a zombie and not really done much. I really feel for anyone with severe injuries and totally admire them because I for one know that I couldn’t cope.

Poker has been pretty grim since I last posted and have had a pretty sick run to go along with bad back problems. My bread and butter games has always been sit and gos but have been running so bad in these – I am not going to post loads of bad beats but believe you me there have been plenty. You know the sort I mean, set loses to set AK to A2 AA to KK etc etc. I have lost £1,003 since I last posted and this would have been a lot worse if I hadn’t had a few decent cashes in some multis. Keep getting to final tables but falling short of the bigger money, last nights was pretty typical of my run of luck. I played in the 50K and was down to last dozen or so and shoved for 60k with 99 and get looked up by AK. A King on the flop sees my exit but if I had won that one would have been in a pretty good position to take it down. On a good day my 9s hold up and who knows. Still at least I’m still up on the month but my profits drop down to £1,015.

Penno gave you the answer for my little comp, I have to wear a mask (breathing machine) to bed every night as I have severe sleep apnoea and need it for that. Basically during the night I stop breathing every one and half minutes and the brain triggers you are not getting oxygen so you wake up take a breath and go back to sleep again. The mask blows air down my throat to ensue that I don’t stop breathing.

There are still a lot of projects that I am working on to do with poker and Ill let you know one of them tomorrow.

I said in previous posts that we go a bit silly with outdoor decorations at Xmas but the kids love it and seeing some of them at the gates looking at the lights make it worthwhile although I can understand that some of you will think it’s really tacky. It’s difficult to photograph them very well but here is a few pics of them.

Still going good

The £50 comp is still going and up for grabs I have posted a small clue for the missing answer in the comments on the thread so that may help.

My back feels slightly better today so I am back at work and catching up on all the lovely paperwork - my back really does need to get better soon as Im supposed to be playing Golf with Shaa tomorrow and Im gonna whip his arse.

I played a reasonable bit of Poker yesterday and chanced my luck in a few multis, played in the two daytime 15ks and the 10k ($10 rebuy), all good value tournaments. I cashed in 2 of them and best result was 12th in the 15k where the guy hit runner runner flush for me to make my exit. The rest of my games were a mixture of double ups and STTs. I managed to make a £930 profit which takes the months profit to £2,018. If only all months started as well as this, perhaps the blogging has helped discipline me as I really dont wish to post bad beat stories and tales of gloom.

I am planning to bash the tables later on again today if I catch up on my paperwork and hopefully the run will continue, we shall see.

See you all later

Daily update

Hello again all,

My back is still buggered so feeling a bit sorry for myself. It hasn’t gone for ages so was really hoping that I no longer had this problem but obviously not – I get a muscle spasm which twists my back out of shape and hurts like fuck. I will have to sit in my chair resting with laptop again today.

Well yesterday I played quite a few STTs and a few multis and managed to rake $488 and made a profit of £588 so got to be happy with that. This takes the months profit to £1,088 and a total of $813 in rake. I am hoping that my back eases off this morning so I can go into work as I have loads to do but if it doesn’t the only thing I can really do is blitz the poker again which if I had the same results as the last 2 days wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Still no takers for the £50 comp – seems like the poker world isn’t affected by the credit crunch, either that or no one bothers reading this – reminds me I must look into seeing how to get a site counter to see if I am wasting my time posting on here. Still even if I am talking to myself I am sure that it is going to keep me focused – I promise that if I fail in what I am trying to do then I will post that on here as well.

By the way Highstacks if your reading this can you mail me or msn me please I have a proposition for you.

Good Luck at the tables !!

Going Forward

OK start of a new month and have started well after playing a few double up games and a few six seaters and am going to keep a profit and loss tally on here. Hopefully this will keep me a bit more focused when playing as I have a bad habit of being a bit blase when playing. Yesterday I ended up £500 in profit and paid $325 in rake so as I said a good start and we will see how it pans out over the next few weeks.

When I used to play on Betfair I used to rake about £2,500 per month and last month I did £5,295 on I Poker and dint play any more hours then I did on Betfair. Its simply that the games fill quicker and that the double up games finish faster. What I am also enjoying is the variety of players and not just the usual dozen or so on Betfair.

Only one more question to guess right on my little comp and Im itching to give the £50 away so fire away with your guesses.

I have put my back out this morning and struggling so am going to have cancel my appointments for the day - this will probably give me time to post some pictures from the past.

Best way to cure a back I reckon is to sit in a nice straight chair with a lappie and hammer the poker tables so might have a blitz later on.

catch you all later

Knackered

Good Morning

Well this morning I am well and truly knackered due to too many late nights.

On Friday I bought the missus a car and plumped for The Chrysler Voyager as the 7 seats will come in useful. Then we had the entire family round as it was my big sisters birthday so pretty hectic day but no poker.

Saturday we went to a big party where they had a very good band there called Bambu and if you happen to see them advertised go and see them they are pretty good, had one or two bevies and suffered slightly the next morning. Managed to chuck up in the morning but I put that down to a dodgy sausage.

Spent most of the Saturday afternoon then getting wet finishing off the outside Xmas lights – will finish them today and then have the big switch on – going to do it for charity this year so trying to make it bigger than before. I will post a few pics on here later this week of them so you can see how mad we are.

Settled down then for an evening of Poker and was running so so and at the last minute decided to enter the ECOOP $500k guaranteed which is the reason why I am knackered this morning. In the midst of playing this I played in stacks of STTS and managed to cash in my last 8 so a nice profit was had there as well.

In the ECOOP event I started off OK thanks to a few idiots and at the first and second breaks I was up in the top 10 and looking good. However with 1645 players vying for the $100k first prize there was a long way to go. I was playing well but getting outdrawn a lot and some of the hands I can remember my AK lost to A 10, 99 lost to 44 and KK lost to AK (all in pre flop). If these had held then I am sure things could have been different. Anyway to cut a long story short I finished 84th after jamming with A 10 suited and losing to AQ so at least it wasn’t a beat that I went out on. I got $750 for my troubles but not sure it was worth it for my 2 AM finish. Having said that I wasn’t playing for 84th I really wanted to win it and don’t regret my jam one bit.

Very happy with everything that is going on with my life at the moment and as I have said there is a lot going on in the background that I will share with you all soon.

There are now 2 correct guesses in my little £50 comp so you just need to get the last question for the £50. Have a look at the thread and see if you can guess it. Mandylou – I need you to get in touch so that I can send you the £20 for the last comp that I did.

Really hope that you are all winning loads and don’t forget if you need any help with setting up an account with The Big Slick and Ipoker give me a shout at duffs16@hotmail.co.uk.

See you all at the tables later and in the meantime have fun!!!
